Architecture and Arts Oral History Project 20 objects
This collection contains sound files and transcripts of oral history interviews conducted with former Art and Architecture faculty members. The collection was created by Eileen Broido, working on a celebration of the history of the College in 2007. It also contains some biographical information compiled by Broido.
Bethlehem Howell Neighborhood Center collection 160 objects
Bethlehem Center and Howell House were church-related neighborhood houses serving the Pilsen area on the Near West Side. They provided religious, social services, and personal welfare assistance to an immigrant community composed predominantly of Bohemians, Poles, and Czechs. The two centers cooperated throughout their history, merging in 1961 as the Neighborhood Service Organization. The Neighborhood Service Organization, popularly known as Casa Aztlan, continues to serve the Pilsen area.

The Beverly Area Planning Association (BAPA) was founded in 1947 as an umbrella agency of residential and business associations in the Beverly Hills/Morgan Park neighborhood in Southwest Chicago. The collection includes materials reflecting the administration, programming and advocacy efforts of the Beverly Area Planning Association between 1967 and 1972.

This collection offers a variety of materials pertaining to African American experiences, mostly from 20th century black freedom movement groups, including the Civil Rights Movement, Black Panthers, SNCC, black cultural figures, and other Chicago-based activists. Materials include periodicals, audio reels, letters, transcripts, brochures, and clippings.

During the 1960s through 1990s, architect and photographer Charles William “Bill” Brubaker (1926-2002) photographically documented examples of significant architecture and design of the urban environment in the Chicago area and in other cities that he lived in or visited. This collection consists of slides taken by Brubaker.

This collection of 35 mm color slides of Chicago and suburban drugstores was created by an unidentified photographer in 1955. It depicts pharmacies in various Chicago neighborhoods and suburbs. This collection was donated by Dr. Richard J. Anzalone, an alumnus of the College of Pharmacy, and retired Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice.

This is a collection of composite photographs of past graduating classes of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Chicago. The images date from 1882 through 1912. All photographs are black and white and feature head shots of members of the class with their names. In some cases, members of the College faculty or administration are included in the composites.

The Henry Booth House was established in Chicago in May 1898 by the Ethical Humanist Society and named for the Society's first president, Judge Henry Booth. The Henry Booth House's founders sought to improve living conditions in the surrounding neighborhood, promote good citizenship, strengthen family life and the sense of community. In 1963, Hull-House, the world-famous social settlement house founded by Jane Addams and Ellen Gates Starr, moved from its original location in the Near West Side of Chicago and decentralized its services. The newly restructured Hull House Association became the administrative entity overseeing a confederation of affiliated organizations that included former settlement houses, newly created community centers, and a myriad of program hosted in Hull House satellites. This collection primarily contains materials generated or collected by the central office of Hull House Association. It documents the history, leadership, activities, and mission of Hull House Association and its relationship to several of its affiliates.

The collection includes negatives and photographs generated by the Department of Public Works and Buildings from 1930 to 1960, which preceded the Illinois Department of Transportation. The records include negatives and photographs of traffic intersections along some of Chicago’s major roadways, surveys of Chicago Transit Authority bus stations, bridges and viaducts throughout Chicago, and various projects conducted by Illinois’ leading transportation agency in 1930s to 1950s.

The Illinois Training School for Nurses (ITSN) was established September 21, 1880 by a group of prominent Chicago women dedicated to the prospect of training young women to care scientifically for the sick. Twenty-five directors, all female, headed the project. The records of the Illinois Training School for Nurses (ITSN) document the history of the school from its inception until well after it ceased operation.

The Italian-American Collection was compiled as part of the "Italians in Chicago" project by the Department of History at the University of Illinois at Chicago Circle. The project was funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities and interviews were largely conducted during 1979 and 1980. Donations included photographs, booklets and pamphlets, as well as various other family memorabilia.

This collection includes least two medical atlases published by Merck & Co. The illustrations depict various body structures, functions, and ailments.
Puerto Rican Cultural Center collection 396 objects
Members of the Puerto Rican and Latinx community in Chicago established the non-proft Juan Antonio Corretjer Puerto Rican Cultural Center (PRCC) in 1973 to address the social and cultural needs of the West Town and Humboldt Park community. The collection contains printed documents produced and published by the Puerto Rican Cultural Center including newspapers, flyers, programs, and books. Photographs, ephemera, and memorabilia from the center are also included.

The collection contains correspondence, memos, articles, speeches, annual reports, minutes of meetings, and photographs. pertaining to operation and activities of Chicago Commons settlement house, the Chicago Federation of Settlements and the National Federation of Settlements. The collection also includes writing and publications by Graham Taylor, founder of Chicago Commons.

Students at the Circle campus published an annual yearbook from 1966 through 1977. The final yearbook included the senior classes for both 1980 and 1981. The yearbooks were titled “The Circle Yearbook” with the exception of the the 1973 and 1980-81 editions. The 1973 edition was named “Circa: Chicago Circle Annual,” and the 1980-81 edition was “Concentric Circle.”
