C. William Brubaker Collection

During the 1960s through 1990s, architect and photographer Charles William “Bill” Brubaker (1926-2002) photographically documented examples of significant architecture and design of the urban environment in the Chicago area and in other cities that he lived in or visited. This collection consists of slides taken by Brubaker.

The (now unused) Kinzie Street railroad bridge is in the raised position in the upper left foreground of the photograph. The Fulton House Condominiums (originally North American Cold Storage Company warehouse) are on the far right. The Lake Street elevated train tracks, with a CTA Green Line train running across them, are visible in front of the cluster of Loop high-rises. The Sears Tower (now Willis Tower) rises above them.
