A Century of Progress records

A Century of Progress International Exposition was held in Chicago during the summers of 1933 and 1934 to commemorate the incorporation of the city in 1833. This collection consists of the extant operating records of A Century Progress World's Fair.

A booklet produced with basic information about the fair, such as what it was supposed to represent, who would be participating, and how certain buildings had been designed.

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra won the game 18-17 when Dan Seidenberg, a cellist with the CSO, hit a tie-breaking home run in the seventh inning. Both orchestras performed at the Century of Progress International Exposition, 1933-1934.

A happy group of visitors after their first day at the new World's Fair from York and York County Pennsylvania
The party, under the chaperonage of Glenn E. Bailey and J.W. Barwick, numbers 153, and is composed of 75 school children and 60 teachers. They already have visited all exhibit buildings, the Field Museum, Colonial Village, the Lama Temple and Fort Dearborn. They leave Friday for home, and are staying at Judson Court, University of Chicago.

Admiral Byrd's flagship City of New York arrives in Chicago for A Century of Progress. Byrd sailed the City of New York during one of his famous expeditions to the Antarctic.
