C. William Brubaker Collection

During the 1960s through 1990s, architect and photographer Charles William “Bill” Brubaker (1926-2002) photographically documented examples of significant architecture and design of the urban environment in the Chicago area and in other cities that he lived in or visited. This collection consists of slides taken by Brubaker.

Howard Street at Clark

View looking south along the west side of Chicago Avenue, north of Dempster Street in Evanston. Ground level shops and businesses include Ken's barber shop, Vogue Beauty Salon, and Dave's Down To Earth Rock Shop. Each shop has flower boxes installed in front of their storefront windows.
