Notes:
Naidu was on a lecture tour of North America from October 28, 1928 through July 1929. She wrote to Mohandas Gandhi from Cincinnati on November 19, 1928, mentioning Jane Addams and Hull-House and saying she had seen the play Porgy and Bess the night before in Chicago (she was in Chicago other times during her travels as well)
