Che Ca Gou sculpture, Chicago Place

View of an anodized metal sculpture installed on the rear wall of the top-level food court in the Chicago Place shopping center (700 North Michigan Avenue). The sculpture depicts several of the city's iconic skyscrapers, including the John Hancock building and the Sears Tower (now Willis Tower), arrayed in a fan shape and interspersed with large metal feathers, suggesting a Native American headdress. A group of wild onions are depicted in the center of the sculpture, and a curved panel below the cluster of onions bears the inscription "and the Illini called it Che Ca Gou".
