Featured in 1939 Hull-House Yearbook, p. 10, with the caption "The first step in eradicating slums is to be conscious of dirty streets, poor houses and garbage laden alleys." This group is made up of young people enrolled in the Hull-House Art Department, who have been instructed by Miss Emily Edwards, Department Head, to paint, not what they see in this alley, but what they alley would be like if it were clean." Also on p. 34 of the same yearbook.
