Notes:
Hooker was an attorney, minister, Chicago Tribune writer, and a founder and secretary of the City Club of Chicago who resided at Hull-House for decades until his 1939 death. Photo featured on p. 27 of 1939 Hull-House Yearbook with the caption "On her rounds through the grounds of Hull-House, Miss Charlotte Carr stops to chat with one of the oldest residents of the Settlement, Mr. William Hooker. Mr. Hooker is a retired businessman, and is credited with being the Father of Chicago's first traction ordinance."
