Residents ate here prior to construction of Residents' Dining Hall (1905). Among the signs: "The temple of temperance. No Snakes Here", "Try our milk shake", "Notice, nothing but soft drinks served here", "For residents, there will NOT be any residents meeting after this party, so eat, drink & be merry" and "The Hamilton-Benedict Bar. [not legible] of the W.C.T.U. [Women's Christian Temperance Union]"
