Land cleared for the Illinois Center development

 

View to the southeast from the Michigan Avenue bridge, showing land along the south side of the Chicago River cleared in preparation for the Illinois Center development. The Outer Drive East (now North Lake Shore Drive) runs across the center of the image, and 400 East Randolph stands behind that.
