A large parking lot occupies the block on the southeast corner of West Grand Avenue and North Orleans Street. 318 West Grand Street is visible at the right, home to Caravans Awry (a rug store) at the time of the photograph. To the left of that, the Montgomery Ward & Company Headquarters (now The Montgomery condominiums) is visible in the distance. The rear of Ontario Building (now Ontario Street Lofts, 411 West Ontario Street) is near the center of the photograph, and the side of Clark & Barlow Hardware (353 West Grand Avenue) is visible at the far left.
