The overpass for the South Shore Line electric railroad crosses above Indianapolis Boulevard; the station house and parking for the East Chicago station is just to the right of the viaduct. The embankment for the South Shore Line is visible beyond the station on the right side of the image. A billboard for a local car dealership stands on the roof of the station house.
