Farther up the river, a coal yard and coal barge are visible at the riverfront. In the distance behind these is the red brick Procter & Gamble plant with its two smokestacks (demolished). On the right is a Peoples Gas Light & Coke Company gas holder, part of the former Willow Street Station Manufactured Gas Plant Site (demolished).

View, looking southwest from the North Halsted Street bridge at the facilities of the Material Service Corporation (now Prairie Material, Ready-Mix Yard No. 32) at 835 North Peoria Street. Material Service company barges are docked along the North Chicago River adjacent to the facility for offloading cargo. The Morton Salt warehouse (1357 North Elston Avenue) is near the center of the image. The New Metal Crafts, Inc. warehouse (1308 North Elston Avenue) , with a large painted advertisement for Smirnoff vodka is to the left of it. The St. Stanislaus Kostka Church (1351 West Evergreen Avenue) is on the far left.
