Bridges, viaducts, and underpasses: Moveable bridges of Chicago (Folder 59)
Community Activities bring the city's government into the neighborhood. Mayor Richard J. Daley's campaign for a cleaner Chicago reached out to students in Chicago's schools and made them part of the Junior Citizen's Committee for a Cleaner Chicago.

East Chicago South Shore Line Station
View looking north along Indianapolis Boulevard near the Indiana Toll Road, just south of the intersection with South Roxanna Drive. The overpass for the South Shore Line electric railroad crosses above Indianapolis Boulevard; the station house and parking for the East Chicago station is just to the right of the viaduct. The embankment for the South Shore Line is visible beyond the station on the right side of the image. A billboard for a local car dealership stands on the roof of the station house. A sign on the right side of Indianapolis Boulevard reads "Dr. John B. Nicosia, Mayor, Welcomes You To East Chicago Indiana. Please Drive Carefully!"
1972
Edens Expressway at Peterson Avenue
View looking north along the Edens Expressway from the US 14 overpass (North Caldwell Avenue/ West Peterson Avenue). The exit for North Caldwell Avenue (US 14) is at the right. The office building on the horizon at the far right is located at 6200 North Hiawatha Avenue.
