Industrial buildings, West Ontario Street
View looking west along the north side of West Ontario Street at 222 West Ontario (home to Lino's Ristorante at the time of the photograph), the Deahl Building (also with address of 222 West Ontario), and the Leahy Building (226 West Ontario). To the left of these buildings, the intersection with West Franklin Street is visible, with the CTA elevated tracks running above Franklin Street. A large billboard advertising Newport cigarettes is affixed to the side of the elevated track structure.

View of the front facade of a four-story, nineteenth-century building located at 70 West Erie Street, just east of the intersection with East Clark Street. The address of this building is also given as 661 N. Clark Street. At the time of the photograph, the building had been renovated to house Salvador's, a Mexican restaurant.

Part of the Medinah Temple with its distinctive onion dome is visible behind the Croydon.

Independent small businesses occupy the street level of a nineteenth-century building at 544-550 North Wells Street, located just south of the intersection with West Ohio Street. Delish offered lunch items and pizza; next to it is "3 Little Bakers" bakery.
