Chicago Tribune Freedom Center under construction
View of the Chicago Tribune printing plant under construction, looking northeast from West Erie Street at North Union Avenue. The plant, named the Chicago Tribune Freedom Center, is located adjacent to the west bank of the North Branch of the Chicago River at 777 West Chicago Avenue. Visible to the right of it are the Montgomery Ward Catalog and Retail Sales building (Mail Order House), the Montgomery Ward Administration building, and the Montgomery Ward & Company Headquarters tower (now The Montgomery condominiums, 535 West Chicago Avenue/ 500 West Superior Street).
