Kenwood Community Study Center flyer
In 1962, the Hyde Park Neighborhood Club opened the first study center for grade school children in the city of Chicago. They opened this second location in 1963 at the First Baptist Church at 5039 S. Greenwood Avenue. It provided tutoring and homework help for neighborhood children.

Community Activities bring the city's government into the neighborhood. Mayor Richard J.
