West Grand Avenue and North Orleans Street

A large parking lot occupies the block on the southeast corner of West Grand Avenue and North Orleans Street. 318 West Grand Street is visible at the right, home to Caravans Awry (a rug store) at the time of the photograph. To the left of that, the Montgomery Ward & Company Headquarters (now The Montgomery condominiums) is visible in the distance. The rear of Ontario Building (now Ontario Street Lofts, 411 West Ontario Street) is near the center of the photograph, and the side of Clark & Barlow Hardware (353 West Grand Avenue) is visible at the far left.

North Kingsbury Street and West Superior Street
View looking southeast from North Kingsbury Street, from just south of the intersection with West Chicago Avenue. Parking lots for the Montgomery Ward Company headquarters occupy the block from North Kingsbury Street to North Hudson Street, and the next block to the south, between West Superior and West Huron Streets. The rear of 400 West Superior Street/ 740 North Sedgwick Street can be seen facing North Hudson Street. The tan brick building at the southeast corner of North Hudson and West Superior Streets has since been demolished. Installation is in progress on new bay windows that protrude out at an angle from the building's south wall. These windows also serve as small walk-on spaces.
