Cargo handling facilities, Calumet River

View looking north along the North Branch of the Chicago River from north of West Division Street. On the left is the Chicago Rawhide Manufacturing Company factory (demolished). Farther up the river, a coal yard and coal barge are visible at the riverfront. In the distance behind these is the red brick Procter & Gamble plant with its two smokestacks (demolished). On the right is a Peoples Gas Light & Coke Company gas holder, part of the former Willow Street Station Manufactured Gas Plant Site (demolished).

North Damen Avenue at McLean
View looking east from West McLean Avenue towards mixed-use commercial/residential buildings on the east side of North Damen Avenue. A narrow four story building houses the Los Amigos Barber Shop (2025 North Damen Avenue) at street level, with apartments on the upper levels. Next to that on the right is Accurate Door Service (2023 North Damen Avenue). The top of a cylindrical gas holder (gas storage tank), with its red and white checkerboard pattern, is visible at the extreme right. Shoreline Cleaners (2030 North Damen) is at the left, on the west side of Damen Avenue.

Rear view of houses located on the east side of South Ewing Avenue. The house at the far right (9507 South Ewing Avenue) sits at the intersection of South Ewing Avenue and East 95th Street. Behind the utility pole on the left, part of a cylindrical gas storage tank and an overhead crane are visible. Railroad tracks run alongside the rear of these homes, and in the foreground part of the western edge of Calumet Park is visible.

View looking southeast from South Chicago Avenue from just north of the intersection with South Baltimore Avenue, towards cargo handling and storage facilities along the Calumet River. Concrete storage silos are visible on the left behind the viaduct. To their right are utility poles and overhead cranes, and next to that, part of the Chicago Skyway is visible. A gas storage tank (gas holder) is at the far right side. Part of the United Steelworkers Union Local 65 office building (9350 South Chicago Avenue, now home to the Power Circle Congregation) is visible in front of it.
