The parking lot in the foreground, located along the east side of North Wells Street between West Huron and West Erie Streets, is still in existence (2017). A billboard in that parking lot advertises Newport cigarettes. To the left behind the billboard, the yellow and turquoise exterior of Ed Debevic's restaurant (640 North Wells Street, demolished) is visible. To the right of the billboard, the three story building with the brown brick front facade became part of the Hooters restaurant at 660 North Wells Street. Behind this building is North Branch II (311-313 West Superior Street), with a banner reading "The North Branch Center". The Merchandise Mart is in the distance at the far left.
