A Century of Progress records

A Century of Progress International Exposition was held in Chicago during the summers of 1933 and 1934 to commemorate the incorporation of the city in 1833. This collection consists of the extant operating records of A Century Progress World's Fair.

Stripping bark from trees

Artist's rendition of a nineteenth-century estate somewhere along the Atlantic seaboard. The workers in the painting appear to be harvesting the bark off the birch trees. Strips of birch bark were often used as a veneer for canoes of other hand-crafted items.
