Richard J. Daley collection

The Richard J. Daley Collection documents the public offices, political career, and personal life of Daley and contains documents, publications, ephemera, memorabilia, artifacts, and photographs dating from 1870-2010. The bulk of the collection dates from Richard J. Daley’s six terms as mayor of the city of Chicago, and as Chairman of the Cook County Democratic Central Committee.

Daley family leading Torchlight Parade

Richard J. Daley, Eleanor "Sis" Daley and their children march at the front of a crowd on Halsted Street at the Daley mayoral campaign kick-off parade (torchlight parade). Behind them, supporters carry Daley signs and banners, including one that reads "Mom Likes Daley". The parade started from 35th and Halsted Streets.
