UIC Library Digital Collections offers additional features to UIC users who log in to the site with their NetID.
In some cases we digitize materials in order to protect the original item if it is brittle or frequently used. Unfortunately we may not have the right to publish that digitized item to the general public. UIC students, faculty and staff can still access those materials with their UIC NetID. In some cases we can also make the material available to researchers who visit the Library.
If you are not logged in, you will see that we own these materials, but that you must either log in or visit the Library to see them.
In this example, the first item in the list is restricted to UIC or on-campus visitors.
If you are affiliated with UIC and have logged into the site with your UIC NetID, you will have download links available for most items, just below the item display area. You can choose to download various sizes of an image, up to 5000 pixels on the long edge. You can also download just the portion of an image you have zoomed in on. If you need an image larger than 5000 pixels, please use the Order Reproduction form for a higher resolution copy.
