Architecture and Arts Oral History Project

This collection contains sound files and transcripts of oral history interviews conducted with former Art and Architecture faculty members. (Today known as the College of Architecture, Design, and the Arts.) The collection was created by Eileen Broido, working on a celebration of the history of the College in 2007.

The University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria (UICOMP) Historical Photographs collection consists of a variety of images related to the Peoria campus and surrounding areas. The photographs were taken by the Division of Educational Services in the 1970s and 1980s.

Lea Demarest Taylor (1883-1975) daughter of Graham Taylor, founder of the Chicago Commons settlement house, and Leah Demarest Taylor was active in Chicago's social settlement movement. The digital collection includes Chicago urban planning reports from the 1920s to the 1960s.

The Dr. Chester Danehower Collection is comprised of items related to the medical field of dermatology. The collection comprises a variety of medical artifacts and was given to the Library of the Health Sciences — Peoria in 2014 and 2015 by Dr. Chester and Mrs. George Ann Danehower. Dr. Danehower was a faculty member in the Dermatology department within the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. While the collection only has 6 objects, one includes over a hundred images. This content may not be appropriate for all audiences.

The Immigrants' Protective League was founded in 1908 as a resource for all new immigrants arriving in Chicago. The Immigrants' Protective League records contain reports, memoranda, case histories, affidavits, legislative bills, dissertations, press releases, resolutions, photographs, maps, addresses, statements, clippings, and articles.

 


Italian American Records
Italian American Collection Records

The Italian-American Collection was compiled as part of the "Italians in Chicago" project by the Department of History at the University of Illinois at Chicago Circle. The project was funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities and interviews were largely conducted during 1979 and 1980. Donations included photographs, booklets and pamphlets, as well as various other family memorabilia.
